Lavalava Island is an island in Paper Mario and is the holding place for Misstar, the fifth Star Spirit. Jade Jungle, Yoshi's Village and Mt. Lavalava make up most of the level. Yoshi Cabana is the only real building on this island. Yoshis, Raphael the Raven and Sushie live here, and after Mario helps Sushie find 5 missing Yoshi kids, she joins him on his quest to save Princess Peach. While Mario and his partners visit the island with Kolorado, something happens in Mt. Lavalava, and Mario takes a tough journey through the lava-infested environment. The boss of the area is Lava Piranha and two Lava Buds. Also, the rare Trumpet Plant can also be found here, as well as Bellbell Plants and Cymbal Bushes. According to Russ T., who lives in Toad Town, Lavalava Island used to be home to humans long before Yoshis and Ravens arrived. He claims that the humans used to live in Mount Lavalava's various outside caves. He can confirm this by the artifact that Kolorado found there. Mario and his partners go to the island with the help of the Whale at the beginning of Chapter 5. The Whale will serve like a boat between Toad Town and Lavalava Island for the rest of the game. There is also a Blue Pipe that connects Toad Town Tunnels and Yoshi's Village on the island.

Sep 12, 2009 Yoshi's Island DS is considered the true sequel to the original Yoshi's Island on the SNES. It's been a long way, and nothing much has changed - for the better. This FAQ includes a walkthrough, detailed above; an unlockables section; and other things.
- Apr 07, 2014 Flower #4 - On the second highest cloud, discover a hidden Winged Cloud on the left. Take it down to reveal stairs and a red door. Enter it and collect the Yoshi Star. When you see the arrows, jump.
- Nov 29, 2014 Yoshi's Island DS was a much better sequel to Yoshi's Island than this game, as at least that game didn't bore me in the slightest (despite not being anywhere near as good). Yoshi's New Island is a sad case of a game that should've been better than it actually turned out.

Uncover these and many more items as you journey around Egg Island. Get lots of these and something good might happen!”
